Nicolás Fliess

Dylan Brzeczek
Nicolás Fliess grew up on ranches in the Buenos Aires province of Argentina, where nature was always close. From a young age, he developed a deep connection with the natural world and a special passion for fishing. His early experiences were on the rivers of the Paraná basin, and by his teenage years, he began taking fishing trips to different regions of Patagonia—where the dream of one day living in that extraordinary land began to take shape.

Driven by his love for nature and adventure, he studied tourism to gain a comprehensive understanding of the travel industry.

At the age of 24, he moved to Trevelin, in the heart of Patagonia, where he now lives with his partner, Sofía, and their four children, on a rural property just outside town.

Since then, and for the past 18 years, he has dedicated each season to exploring, learning, and guiding anglers from around the world through the waters of this unique region—developing a deep and intimate knowledge of Patagonia’s ecosystems.

Over time, Nicolás created a unique and original fly fishing program: Natural Anglers Patagonia. The experience is designed so that each angler can immerse themselves in the incredible diversity of landscapes the region has to offer, traveling through a variety of natural environments and sharing, together with his exceptional team of guides and staff, the local culture they are proud to represent.

To bring this vision to life, Nicolás saw the need for a flexible system that would allow them to explore Patagonia by combining carefully selected lodges with high-comfort wilderness camps in prime fishing locations. This is how the idea of converting a Mercedes Benz 4×4 truck into a mobile base camp was born—equipped to carry everything needed to offer a seamless and immersive adventure across Patagonia’s stunning terrain.

Today, after nearly two decades of guiding in Patagonia, Nicolás continues to share his passion with anglers from around the world, combining knowledge, hospitality, and deep respect for nature.

More than just a fishing experience, his work is an invitation to truly connect with Patagonia—creating memories that last long after the final cast.

Dylan Brzeczek
Dylan, an avid fly fisherman, grew up in the mountains of Colorado, where he explored the outdoors with his two older brothers—skiing, fishing, hiking, and camping. In the summer of 2020, Dylan and his family traveled to Bristol Bay, Alaska, to fly fish for salmon, rainbow trout, grayling, and Dolly Varden, and he instantly fell in love with the experience. Since then, he has worked at Alaskan fishing lodges every summer, guiding and fishing for all five species of Pacific salmon, rainbow trout, Arctic char, Dolly Varden, and grayling. However, it was the rainbow trout that brought him back year after year.

With fly fishing becoming a central part of his life, Dylan moved to Bozeman, Montana, to study Business Management at Montana State University. During the off-seasons, he spent his time fly fishing the world-class trout rivers in the area. After nearly 600 days on the water over two years, Dylan honed his skills in trout feeding behavior, entomology, and fly fishing techniques.

His journey led him to Natural Anglers Patagonia, where owner Nico Fliess offered him the chance to experience Patagonian trout fishing. After the 2024 Alaskan season, Dylan traveled to Patagonia, Argentina for 4 months, where he quickly adapted his techniques while learning the area’s rivers and lakes. He has experienced all that Natural Anglers has to offer, and wants to help others experience Patagonia for themselves.

Martín Gutiérrez

A Viking in Patagonia.

Martín Gutiérrez
I was born and raised in the countryside of a small town in Buenos Aires province. From a very young age, I developed a deep love for nature and outdoor sports. Fly fishing hooked me from the beginning, and that passion eventually led me south to Patagonia in 2005.
Driven by the dream of hiking, horseback riding, and fishing every corner of this wild land, I became a well-rounded guide—on the mountains, lakes, and rivers of Patagonia. Like the trout I chase, I migrate through the region in search of untouched waters and remote beauty.

I split my year between two great passions: guiding fly fishing trips in Patagonia for six months, and spending the other half traveling, fishing, and exploring new places around the world. Over the years, I’ve guided and fished in world-class saltwater destinations like Cuba, Mexico, and the Bahamas, as well as chasing golden dorado in the rivers of northeastern Argentina.

I’m also a big fan of ski mountaineering—especially randonnée—and I live a dream life with my wife and two children.

I love guiding just as much as I love fishing. For me, sharing a day on the water means more than just catching fish—it’s about creating memories, learning, and connecting with nature in some of the most stunning places on Earth.
