Patagonia Extended

(11 days – 10 nights)

Program Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive at Esquel Airport, where we will be waiting for you. We’ll take a scenic three hour drive to Río Pico, where camp is set up by the riverside, and our staff will be waiting for your arrival. Make yourself at home, with large tents set up for each individual. Take in the views Rio Pico has to offer before enjoying a traditional Argentinian asado dinner under the stars.

Day 2 to Day 4

Over the next three days, you will fish many of the waters accessible from the camp. Most are just minutes away from your tent, including Río Pico, Río Nilson, Río Pampas, and some of the best spring creeks in the area. Most of the fishing will be wade fishing, but for those seeking trophy trout, we have small lakes surrounding the camp that we use our rafts on—Lago 3, Lago 2, Lago 1, and many others. In Rio Pico, we will utilize dry flies, nymphs, and streamers, targeting most of our trout by sight.

Day 5

After an early breakfast, we will pack all of our things and head out in the big rig, along with our pick-up trucks and rafting equipment to go to the Senguer River. Upon arrival we will have time to fish in the afternoon while camp is being set up for dinner and the next 2 days. Here, we will target rainbow, brown, and brook trout on dry flies.

Day 6

After breakfast, we will head out for the day to a nearby laguna with big rainbows. Here, we will target fish on dry flies, small streamers, and nymphs.

Day 7

In the morning we’ll go fishing in the Senguer River for a few hours. Then, after lunch and camp is all packed up, we’ll go to Lago Rosario Lodge or Sendero Lodge in the Trevelin Area. At either lodge, you will spend your remaining 3 days in Patagonia.

Day 8 & 9

Spend your days fishing 2 of 3 sections of the Río Grande. Midday, we’ll have lunch on the riverbank. On the Río Grande, we’ll use dry flies, nymphs, and streamers, targeting rising rainbows and aggressive streamer-eating brown trout.

Day 10

After breakfast at your chosen lodge, we will make a 2 hour drive to Laguna Capamento, where we will target large rainbow trout on dry flies.

Day 11

After breakfast, we’ll enjoy a few hours of fishing on the Nantifals River. Targeting big rainbows in an open meadow stream with dry flies and nymphs. Around 12:30, we’ll return to the chosen lodge for lunch, and drive you to Esquel Airport, where you’ll begin your flight back home.
